BIRDWATCHING

The abundance of birds in Sri Lanka is well known. 26 of them are endemic to the island from its 233 resident species. It is also recorded that over 190 species come to the island as migrants. With its amazing variations in climatic conditions, spectacular natural habitats and breathtakingly beautiful locations and Sri Lanka is a paradise for the serious Ornithologist as well as those having a special interest in the natural world of birds. ELEPHANT BACK SAFARI

Travel through the dry zone forests of Sri Lanka on the back of an Elephant. An interesting journey and a unique experience. From your high and quiet vantage point on top of an elephant you can observe the forest terrain, the flora and fauna very well. On a lucky day you may observe wild elephant as well. GOLF

There are three excellent Golf Courses in Sri Lanka. At the highest elevation of 6000 feet above sea level we have the Golf Club in Nuwara Eliya. The Victoria Golf Club course is at 1500ft located a few miles away from Kandy. The Colombo Golf Club is located in Colombo at sea level. So you can enjoy playing golf in different types of terrain and different climatic conditions. HIKES & NATURE TRAILS

The amazingly diverse terrain of Sri Lanka offer many exciting possibilities for hikes and nature trail walks. The choice ranges from walks and treks of varying degrees of challenge. The walks through the rainforests, paddy fields and villages, ancients cities and temples, desolate mountain plains or tea plantations will all be through breathtakingly beautiful scenic terrain. Belihuloya, Sri Pada (Adam's Peak), Horton Plains, Bandarawela, Ella, Knuckles mountain range, Singharaja forest are particularly excellent areas and are well known. However, there are many other lesser known unique areas well.



HOT AIR BALLOONING

A beautiful experience where you will look down from the peaceful blue skies at the lovely north central terrain of the country. The flights start from the cultural triangle areas from Kandalama and Habarana. You will have a birds eye view of the Sigiriya rock and ancient cities, monuments, temples, villages as you float along in your hot air balloon. After early morning flights a special breakfast with tropical fruit and champagne is arranged. A unique experience to share with your friends and loved ones. Please note that hot air ballooning is subject to good weather conditions.



NATURE WATCHING

SCUBA DIVING & SNORKLING

With her endless miles of golden beaches, Sri Lanka oceans offer rewarding experiences to scuba divers and snorklers. There are many colourful coral reefs teaming with even more colourful fish and exciting shipwrecks to explore and enjoy. Trincomalee, Kalpitiya, Hikkaduwa, Kirinda and Weligama are particularly good areas for these activities. Check with us for the best times of the year as the weather and visibility varies according to the monsoon seasons. TRAIN TOURS

There are some interesting train rides which takes you through unique scenic routes. Generally train journeys are slow and relaxing and it is a rewarding experience. We particularly recommend the routes from Nuwara Eliya (Nanu Oya Station) to Badulla via Ella and the sector from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (Nanu Oya Station). We can combine a train journey to your tour to further enrich your Sri Lankan adventure.

WHALE & DOLPHIN WATCHING

Sri Lanka is soon becoming one of the top destinations for Whale watching. November to April are considered to be the season to see Blue Whales and Sperm Whales along their migratory routes in ocean of southern Sri Lanka. On occassion, Humpback Whales can also be observed.The months of December, January and April have been observed as months when larger numbers of these beautiful giants can be seen. The main area for whale watching trips are off the coast of Mirissa. While Large schools of Dolphins can be observed in the Mirissa area, these playful creatures can be sighted in other locations around Sri Lanka. The seas off Kalpitiya area are particularly famous for Dolphin watching tours. While a number of Dolphin varieties have been sighted, Risso's Dolphins, Spinner Dolphins and Bottlenose Dolphin are the more numerous species.


WHITE WATER RAFTING

A great activity for the fun loving and adventurous, white water rafting can be done in the Kelani river close to the town of Kitulgala in the hills. Interestingly this is also a movie location of the 1957 movie, A Bridge on the River Kwai”, starring actors such as Alec Guiness and William Holden. During the exciting rafting trip the tell-tale remains of the bridge that was built for the movie set can be seen as well.



WILDLIFE SAFARIS

There are many exciting wildlife parks to be visited in Sri Lanka. With the abundant and amazingly diverse flora and fauna that prevails in this tropical island a safari through these parks is must for everyone. The most famous are Yala, Udawalawe, Bundala, Minneriya, Wasgomuwa, Wilpattu, Gal Oya and Lahugala.
We arrange jeep safari's to most of them. If you are a wildlife enthusiast or just wish to have an experience of a visit, we can incorporate a safari in to your tour.



AIR TAXI & HELICOPTER TRAVEL

For those who wish enjoy the beauty of the island from the skies, we offer inland transfers and scenic tours by Amphibious Aircraft (Air Taxi) . Those flying out of Colombo can take off from Colombo International Airport or from Ratmalana domestic airport located south of the city of Colombo. The flights operate to inland destinations such as Ampara, Anuradhapura, Bentota, Hingurakgoda, Kandy, Koggala, Nuwara Eliya, Sigiriya and Weerawila. We also offer travel by Helicopter within the island. The aircraft operate only during daylight subject to weather conditions and flight availability. Booking has to be made in advance.
